10 months!

Dear Ezra,

It's very, very hard for me to believe that you are already ten months old! You are so big, and it's true what they say: the days are long but the years are short. You are growing so fast and already you hardly seem the baby that you once were!

This weekend, you learned so many little tricks. Daddy and I took you on our very first family vacation--just a long weekend away at the lake with our small group. I think you were a bit overwhelmed by the house full of people, because you were fussier than usual. But you learned so much this weekend! You learned how to say and use the phrase "no no no no no no no!!" :) And you learned how to pull a door handle down and open the door!

You also surprised daddy and I with how much you've been tucking away in that little noggin when we didn't really know you were watching. You were lying on my chest, about to fall asleep, when all of a sudden you started pretending to snore! It's the cutest thing, really. Daddy and I have pretended to snore for you, but we really didn't know you were watching. And it was all out of the blue. No one was snoring or pretending, but you -- you smart little superbaby, you!! -- you knew that was what we do at sleepy time. Crazy baby.

Another highlight of my weekend came when mommy and daddy left you up at the lake house with some friends from small group. We went canoeing for a few minutes, until we heard you crying from far out on the lake and rushed back to get you. You were sitting on someone's lap, with your little adorable baby sunglasses on. When you saw us walking up, you looked at us, and slowly pulled your sunglasses off, as if to be sure we were for real!

I love you little buddy. You're growing day by day. Still not quite walking, but cruising (you have been since a few days before 7 months!), crawling quickly, climbing the stairs, and snuggling a little more these days too.
