"And the Lord said, 'Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: BUT I have prayed for thee, THAT THY FAITH FAIL NOT." (Luke 22, emphasis mine)
Jesus' prayer is not that Simon will not be tested, but He always lives to make intercession.

ERGO: Be sober, yet not paranoid
Do we practically trust our own strength?
the remedy for this is remembering that we are dead in our sins; our natural lives display a great polarity from our original telos of existing in imago Dei.
