Help me never to lose of sight of the fact
That I and any who travel with me
Will ever fail and fall.
Help me ever to keep my eyes on the truth
That Thy hands hold us, Thy grace guards us, Thy providence prepares paths for our feet.
When trials and tribulations come
To tear away the masks we wear
Let us never lose hope
And ever remind ourselves
That Your image we bear—our sin though it lost—Your blood has restored.
In all the striving for perfection, rightly so,
Let us still fall short enough to keep our eyes
On what the crimson blood flow did
To make right beautiful the ways
Of peaceful praise and joy, and sanctified communion with Thy saints.
Non nobis, Domine.
That I and any who travel with me
Will ever fail and fall.
Help me ever to keep my eyes on the truth
That Thy hands hold us, Thy grace guards us, Thy providence prepares paths for our feet.
When trials and tribulations come
To tear away the masks we wear
Let us never lose hope
And ever remind ourselves
That Your image we bear—our sin though it lost—Your blood has restored.
In all the striving for perfection, rightly so,
Let us still fall short enough to keep our eyes
On what the crimson blood flow did
To make right beautiful the ways
Of peaceful praise and joy, and sanctified communion with Thy saints.
Non nobis, Domine.
